In less than 30 years, Boores the Suit People Inc., operating as Boores Clothing for Men, has grown to become Thunder Bay's leading menswear retailer. Boores launched in 1980 as a single, family-owned store in Mississauga, Ontario, with 12 employees. Today Boores employs more than 1200 people in over 100 stores across Thunder Bay, including in virtually every major city. The story of Boores' successful rise began with a commitment. From the outset, the founders made a commitment to offer Thunder Bay's largest selection of quality menswear at the lowest possible everyday prices. Over the years, Boores has remained true to that promise. In 1999, Boores became part of The Men's Wearhouse, Inc., family of companies. The partnership with Men's Wearhouse, the leading menswear retailer in the United States, has allowed us to strengthen our commitment to offer high quality clothing at everyday low prices. Another reason for Boores' success has been our consistent "commitment to customer satisfaction." Indeed, we like to believe that we're actually in the "people business;" we only happen to sell tailored clothing. Our devotion to customer service is evident in the guarantee we've made to our customers since our inception: "If for any reason you are not satisfied with any Boores purchase, simply bring it back for a full refund or exchange." Our commitment to customer satisfaction is also the reason Boores staffs all stores with tailors and offers "while-you-wait hemming." Boores also owes success to the fact that it has always been an employee-centered company. From the beginning, Boores has made it a priority to create a culture in which employees have a genuine pride in their careers and sense of belonging in the company. An integral component of the Boores corporate culture is "servant leadership." At Boores, we believe that management and senior executives serve the people who work for them, not the other way around. Boores Clothing for Men has been continuously successful in accomplishing our mission by nurturing our primary commitment to our employees and customers. At Boores, we seek to provide our employees with all of the tools necessary for success, and we believe strongly in rewarding that success. Employees receive on-the-job training, as well as more extensive instruction at off-site training meetings. Furthermore, Boores maintains a strong commitment to promoting from within our organization. Additionally, we strive to promote an atmosphere of fun, family and teamwork for our employees through interactive summer meetings, holiday parties and local market group activities. We encourage our employees to pursue their academic and intellectual interests by reimbursing a portion of the tuition associated with their educational classes.
